Buying Roses and Gardening Materials

The first thing that you need to do is to buy the roses that you will plant in your garden and some gardening materials. You can buy container-grown roses from local flower shops and flower suppliers in your city. It is better to buy container-grown roses because it will take a long time to grow roses from seeds. You should also buy some organic compost, mulch, bone meal, and plant food (fertilizer).

 

Planting Roses

It is best to plant the roses after the last frost in the middle of the spring. Roses tend to grow well during slightly cool, moist weather. It is also best to plant your roses early in the morning to prevent stressing the plants. Choose a spot in your garden where your roses will get six to eight hours of indirect or bright sun every day. Also, the site must have good air circulation and quick year-round drainage.
